Traveling through Air India can be quite taxing!

Air India officials called up a strike in the latter half of April, 2011 demanding increase in salary along with improved working conditions and facilities. This untimely strike by Air India officials has imposed an increase of Rs 100-Rs 1300 on each trip of the passengers. On one hand senior officials at Air India have planned to enroll new pilots for the convenience of passengers the other side of the story has geared strained relations among the Air India staff and management.

These unpleasant situations have severely affected everyday life. Be it students, media officials, businessmen or holiday seekers each section of the society has undergone substantial economic losses.

Domestic airlines have seen unequaled rise in prices. While there have drop in prices for some cities, the others are far beyond expectation. Flight tickets from Mumbai have undergone a drop in charges but, those from Delhi, Bangalore and many more have borne an increase of fifty percent.

The government and apex courts have appealed the airline to refund the loss of passengers and upgrade airports with services for passenger. Each of domestic airlines has turned sour in terms of flight tickets rates. Airlines are minting money without any punctuation added to their actions. The most crowed air-routes are being charged heavily and people are left with no options but, to pay as per the situation.

Although, the Air India officials have court orders of getting back to work, still the strike continues. This has turned out to be a bitter experience for common passengers. Their domestic flight tickets, booked earlier have gone waste and in return, people have had to pay heavily for their convenience.

Unreasonable charges for domestic flight tickets have therefore, caused a chaos among public with more expenses and trouble. These are matters of serious concern that require implementation of immediate actions for the welfare of air passengers in the country.
